First Presbyterian Children's Education
ALL of our children at First Presbyterian are loved and valued by God and we want to reflect this by offering Faith Formation opportunities that are developmentally appropriate for the needs of each child, nurturing their faith in God’s love.
Please feel free to contact our Faith Formation Director, Sara Gannon, or our Office with any questions
Children's Education
Children 5 and up are welcome to attend our faith formation classes.
Our classes typically meet before worship
9:00 am to 10:00 am each Sunday September through May.
This Year we are continuing our Summer initiative "Time to PLAY".

Confirmation Classes
Confirmation is a time for individuals to explore their faith, learn about the Christian and Presbyterian traditions, and grow in community with one another.
When a child is baptized in a Presbyterian Church, the parents and the whole church make vows to lovingly raise that child in the Christian faith. When you reach a certain age (in our church it’s 8th grade or older), you are given the opportunity through Confirmation to claim that faith as your own.

We typically hold Confirmation classes every other year. Eighth grade students, or older, are encouraged to participate and will be matched with an adult mentor.
Youth Group
Welcome to First Presbyterian Church's Youth Group for students in grades 6-12.
Our mission is to draw youth into a journey of faith and inspire them to carry the love of Christ into the Chippewa Valley and the world.

We are a fun, active, welcoming group, and we hope you will join us! You do not need to be a member of First Presbyterian Church to participate in Youth Group.

TIME TO PLAY
THIS YEAR’S FAITH FORMATION THEME IS “A TIME TO PLAY!” continuing our summer initiative.
The wise teacher in the book of Ecclesiastes writes, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” (Eccles. 3:1)
During summer sabbatical, our intention was: “While the Kat’s away the church will play!” We had times of play but also a fair amount of work! Recent research has revealed that play is important not only for children and youth, but also for adults. In 2022-23 we will build on this theme and explore what healthy rhythms of work, rest, and play look like and how rest and play may energize the church and allow us to discern what work God calls us to do and empower us to do it well and with love.
As we come off of summer sabbatical and begin to resume our fall Faith Formation activities, the focus for September is to celebrate our summer journeys and reunite in a sustainable rhythm for the school year. Watch for information in the weekly email announcements about faith formation opportunities to grow and learn.
