“The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times” By Jane Goodall and Douglas Abrams You are invited to join Sherry Macaul, Jan Frase and Shannon Berger as we explore the questions of what is the science of hope, if there is hope for our world and what gives us hope for the future of our children and grandchildren. We will meet on Sundays, July 9th, 16th, 23rd, & 30th Following worship in Fellowship Hall A light lunch will be provided Our discussion will be based on “The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times” where Jane Goodall and Dan Abrams talk about the climate crisis, a global pandemic, loss of biodiversity, political upheaval and discuss Jane’s “4 Reasons for Hope.” Questions include: “How do we stay hopeful when everything seems hopeless? How do we cultivate hope in our children? What is the relationship between hope and action?” Hope does still exist. This book will help guide us to it. This discussion is relevant for both youth and adults. We would like you to come and discuss so we may find hope together. There will be a sign-up sheet in the narthex and an opportunity to purchase a soft-cover book for$15.00 each. Shannon has only 7 more books ordered that should be here about June 13th .Please indicate on the sign-up sheet if you would like to purchase one of these books. Books may be purchased at local bookstores or on Amazon or you might be able to check it out from the library if it is not already checked out. We especially need you to sign-up so we know how many to plan on for lunch. Friends and family are welcome to join us. Please remember to sign them up on the sheet too.
